We need good humor...Thanks for the recommendations. We need good humor. To be able to laugh at ourselves.

Abraham Lincoln was known both for his depression and his laughter (at least to those who knew him).

We do take things seriously, in a wrong kind of seriousness, I think. As if it all depends on us rather than God! (cf., Martin Luther)Ted M. I confess, I should have been fairer in the remainder of the post, where I used virgules instead of parentheses to try to be as fair as possible. Alas, I was amiss (Not! I was a mister!)--and I could at least have put "humour" in frount of the virgule in one of the instances. I hope that some have noticed that I vary which of "females" and "males" gets mentioned first in counjoined phrauses.

My only way out, I'm afraid, is to declare that I started out as an Alaskan and still am one. Some of us oldtimers (yes, I can be one) still speak of flying "outside to the States". We didn't become a State of the Union until I was along some in years. And some people still think when I tell them I'm Alaskan that I come from Canada. I don't really mind, eh? I really do love Canada. BC is such a colourful place, water, orcas, craggy mountains (note the "u" in that word!) that take one's breath away.

Mary had some little lambs,
which came from little ewes.
And everytime that Mary laughed
her humour had some u's.Wayne Lemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18024771201561767893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11875966.post-1141364156446018392006-03-02T21:35:00.000-08:002006-03-02T21:35:00.000-08:00The Curt JesterThe Ox FilesThanks, Eric. Did you spot on this page the JI Packer endorsement of the 40 Days of Porpoise Diet, "I Lost 14lbs on Rick's Diet"? Interesting that they chose Packer as the spoof endorser; perhaps others have noted that he is a bit quick to endorse things he has not read thoroughly. In view of recent comments here, would Packer really endorse anything by Warren?Peter Kirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13395635409427347613noreply@blogger.com
