Blogger for Word

Yesterday Blogcritics posted about some new features for Blogger and Blogspot blogs. One of them should help me create better quality posts. It is called Blogger for Word that allows us to compose, proofread, and post from Microsoft Word. I'm going to try it.

I generally have avoided using Word or other similar programs while preparing a blog post or other HTML content because if you copy/paste it from Word into, say, Blogger, it retains the non-ASCII characters which aren't handled well by the browsers. I'd be interested to know how this blogger/word application handles this problem.

I wondered about that, also, Brandon. I guess there's only one way to find out.

Two comments. First some of us have serious technical objections to using Microsoft Word (or that matter any Microsoft products) so Blogger for Word isn't going to be much help. Maybe someone can create a similar macro package for the open source OpenOffice.org.

Secondly looks like the spammers have created themselves throw-away Blogger ids. :-(
