Giddyup to those who laugh

This is for Lingamish, in response to Whoa to you who laugh. He is obviously using some very defective Bible software. Maybe someone can step in and show him how its done. In the meantime, let me point out a few more verse which mention laughter. But first, Sarah called Isaac 'laughter" out of happiness, not because she thought people were laughing at her for being so old. Come on, L.
Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me." Gen. 21:6

21 He will yet fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy. Job 8:21.

Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
The LORD has done great things for them." Ps. 126:2

    She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come. Prov. 31:25

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance, Ecc. 3:4

A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything. Ecc. 10:19

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Luke 6:21
Then there is that outrageous ostrich in Job 39.

So, how did Ecclesiates end up in the canon? Whew. I would definitely have a 65 book canon, myself? :-)

You're right that Sarah's naming of Isaac is in regard to happiness. It seems to me there was a double meaning "My laughter of disbelief was turned into laughter of joy."

By the way this post showed up on Bloglines but doesn't appear when I look at the BBB homepage.

Lingamish,

It does seem like a play on words. Thanks for your brilliant post. I just wanted to tag along with the fun.

I have no idea why the post doesn't appear as normal. Are all my posts like that?
