Prayers in Typoglycemic

I returned home safely late last night from my nephew's graduation. I am tired from my travel and have a lot of catching up to do, so today I'll just point you to this light hearted entry on a kind of translation of the Lord's Prayer posted on Leo Wong's Notes blog. (Click on the title, just above, for this post on my blog to get to Leo's post.)

Let's be thankful that there are real humans doing Bible translation, who don't produce machine translation of this typoglycemic variety. Let's be thankful for the dedication and sacrifice of all Bible translators, but especially, today, English Bible translators. And let's pray for them, especially this week for the ESV TOC that is meeting, that they might be able to make revisions that will make the ESV even more effective.

And could I ask for personal prayer? Our Cheyenne translation team is in the final stages of print and audio publication of Cheyenne Bible translation which we have been working on for the last 30 years. I have grown older and am making more typos and mental slips myself (although not as extensive as the typoglycemic ones). Please pray that we might be able to find the typos in the print version of the translation and that the last minute revisions we make will make the translation even more accurate and effective. Our schedule is to complete digital recording of the Cheyenne translation by July 1. We are on schedule, thanks for God's grace and provision of good Cheyenne involvement and needed energy for me for the time-consuming work. But there is much more work to be done, including a huge amount of post-production (editing) work.

Thanks for giving us the oppertunity to pray for you and your team. It is my family's pleasure to lift you all up in prayer.

Blessings
